Every year, Fight for Dignity organizes a weekend of training exclusively reserved for its teachers. Training is essential if our teachers are to become experts in the field of psychological trauma and violence. It is essential for teachers to have all the required skills to deliver a session and to know how to react in the event of an uncustomary situation.
The course is divided into two main modules:
- A theoretical unit on violence and psychotraumatic stress, led by specialized health professionals: What is violence? How do we deal with it? How to manage post-traumatic stress? What are the different forms of violence?
- A practical unit on the method –led by Laurence Fischer– to help you adapt your behavior and vocabulary, as well as learn about the content of the method.
Laurence Fischer regularly visits medical facilities to meet the nursing staff, but above all to support and listen to the teachers as they work with patients using this method.
The teachers also participate in quarterly group sessions with a psychologist, and a bimonthly follow-up with the Fight for Dignity team.
Training is an essential part of Fight for Dignity’s DNA.
