In 2024, 15 workshops will be offered throughout France, and 1 in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
These workshops are an integral part of the care pathways offered in the medical facilities of the #Restart Maisons des Femmes and Women Safe & Children networks.
This weekly karate workshop is not intended for performance or technical/athletic progress. On the contrary, each session is repeated, like a reassuring appointment. Although the teachers are in contact with the medical team who refer the women to the karate workshops, they are not familiar with the women’s backgrounds. They are, however, trained to deal with the consequences of psycho-trauma. Each teacher is accompanied by Fight For Dignity volunteers.
The karate workshops are only available by recommendation of the team within the facilities Fight for Dignity works with.
